The gastrointestinal tract contains a diverse set of immune cells that coordinate responses against commensal and pathogenic organisms. This symposium will explore signals in specialized gut compartments that guide the migration, maturation, and activation of these immune cell populations. Speakers will discuss the functions of these systems in maintaining tissue homeostasis and their involvement in disease.
