Washington University in St. Louis
Dr. Steven J. Van Dyken, Ph.D., is Assistant Professor of Pathology & Immunology in the Division of Immunobiology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He received his doctoral degree in Biomedical Sciences at the University of California, San Diego (La Jolla, CA), followed by postdoctoral training as a Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) fellow with Dr. Richard Locksley at UCSF. Dr. Van Dyken’s research focuses on how type 2 immunity and mammalian chitinases influence tissue and metabolic homeostasis. This work has revealed new insights into cytokine-mediated feedback loops that govern adaptations to dietary and environmental stimuli, with the goal of translating these findings into therapeutic strategies to treat human disease.
