Dr. Bana Jabri, the Sarah and Harold Lincoln Thompson Distinguished Service Professor at the University of Chicago in Medicine, Pathology, and Pediatrics, is renowned for her expertise in human and mucosal immunology. She investigates host-microbial interactions and their impact on immune disorders and cancer. Notably, her research on IL-15 and NKG2D receptors has advanced treatments for intestinal immune disorders. She also uncovered mechanisms triggering inflammatory responses to dietary antigens and designed the first mouse model of celiac disease. Dr. Jabri's work extends to understanding preleukemic myeloproliferation and intestinal immune homeostasis regulation. She has earned prestigious awards such as the Wm. K Warren Jr. Prize in Celiac Disease and was elected to the Association of American Physicians. At the University of Chicago, she held leadership roles including Chair of the Committee on Immunology and Director of Research for the Celiac Disease Center. In January 2025, Dr. Jabri will become Director at the Imagine Institute in Paris, following her tenure as Director Elect, continuing her groundbreaking contributions to immunology and medical research.
